Delete your account and data
Effective 6 August 2026
This page is for Tastellar, the food-constellation app published by UEI Intelligent Labs LLC for iPhone and Android. You don’t need to sign in, and you don’t need the app installed, to ask us to delete your account.
Two ways to do it
In the app, immediately. Open Tastellar and go to You → Your data → Delete your account. This is the faster route: it runs straight away and nothing waits on us.
Here, by request. Use the form below, or email [email protected]. Because nobody is signed in on this page, we can’t tell who is asking — so we reply to the address on the account to confirm it’s you, then delete everything. That verification step is the only reason this route is slower.
What gets deleted
Deletion happens in two halves: our servers first, then the phone. Tastellar is local-first — what’s in the cloud is a copy — so stopping at the server would leave every star, journal entry and photo sitting in the app’s own storage on your device.
Your photos are removed before anything else. Stored images are the one thing no database record points at, so they go first: if that step fails, we stop and delete nothing rather than leave photos behind with nothing left to trace them to. You’re told plainly that nothing was deleted.
Removing your account then removes, in one operation:
- Your stars — every saved dish, with its place, date, photos and journal text
- Your profile and handle, and your sign-in credentials
- Your links and crossings — connections to other people and every crossing computed between your skies
- Starpasses, toasts and star notes you sent or received
- Threads and echoes — the constellations drawn from your stars
- People tags pointing at you from other stars
- Push tokens and notification history for your devices
- Your subscription record, if you had Tastellar Pro
These are removed by the database itself, not by a cleanup script that could miss a table — the relationships are defined so that deleting the account deletes everything hanging off it.
What deletion cannot reach
A star someone accepted from you is theirs now. When you send a Starpass and another person accepts it, a copy lands in their sky. Deleting your account does not reach into another person’s data — by design, the same way their deletion never reaches yours.
The same applies to a thread you co-owned with someone: the thread is still theirs, and your half of the ownership is simply removed from it.
What is kept, without you attached to it
Two things survive deletion, and in both cases your identity is severed:
- Places you were the first to add. Other people’s stars point at the same place record, so removing it would damage their data. The record stays; the note saying you created it is erased.
- Our internal cost ledger. A running tally of what AI processing costs us, which we keep for budgeting. Your account id is erased from those rows.
Neither can be traced back to you afterwards. Beyond these, billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires — see the Privacy Policy — and our providers hold short-lived server logs on their own schedules.
It is immediate and permanent
There is no grace period, no trash, and no recovery. Once deletion runs, we cannot restore your account or anything in it, and neither can you. If you want a copy first, use You → Your data → Export everything in the app before deleting — afterwards is too late.
Request deletion
Give us the email address on the account. We’ll reply to it to confirm it’s you, then delete everything above.
[email protected] is read by a person. Automated mail from Tastellar is sent from a no-reply address that nobody monitors — replies to it go nowhere, so use the address above.
